Founding Lawyer

Douglas Wilson

LLB, LLM

Doug was born in Toronto and grew up in Leaside. He founded Wilson Associates in Uxbridge in 1976. During his career, he practised law in a wide number of areas.

After more than 45 years practising law in Uxbridge, Doug Wilson has stepped back from the active ownership and management of the firm to take on a more advisory role. However, he will continue his focus on corporate and commercial matters.

Doug has been married to consulting speech and language pathologist Susan Wilson since 1971. When Doug was a young lawyer, they bought his family’s Uxbridge farm and moved here. For many years, they lived on the property, managing an active agricultural business while Doug and Susan worked in their professions.

In 2017, they sold their farm, relocating to the Town of Uxbridge. They’re now engaged in parenting their young, ever-active English Shepherd pup, Matti.

Doug was active in sports until hockey and tennis became too demanding on old injuries, leaving only golf for the athletic passions. However, good fortune has allowed him to enjoy year-round golf by spending winters in much-warmer Florida.
